My college friend invited me to go home with her to visit her family in Chicago. I had never visited Chicago before and thought it would be a good opportunity for me to do so. We drove down there on Friday after classes. It was pretty late and I had thought would just relax but she had mentioned that she wanted me to experience Chicago nightlife. In my small hometown, there was not much to do after 9:00 in the evening so I couldn’t image what she had in mind. Wow! I couldn’t believe what our options were. Chicago nightlife is very active and I was weighed down with decisions. She mentioned that we could go to a dance club and I said that sounded like something I would enjoy. Then she asked me what kind of music I was interested in. She began listing the choices I had, jazz, rock and roll, rhythm and blues, country, soul, salsa and more. There were dance clubs for any and all kinds of music. She invited her brother and a friend to come along and help show me a good time. She laughed and said we could go from club to club and dance until we dropped. It was a very fun evening, even though I don’t think my feet will ever be the same. I can’t wait until I see what she has in mind for Saturday night.
