My brother Dan thought Mom sounded so bored lately. With the cold weather coming she was not able to get around too much. Whenever one of us would call her she was either working a crossword puzzle or a jigsaw puzzle. She would write the date when she finished the jigsaw puzzle on the back of the box along with her idea of it ease of solving it. She keep these puzzle in her closet for a while and then brought them out only to do them over again. She also played a lot of games of Solitaire, so many she wore out a few decks of cards. My brother brought over a gaming computer for Mom. She complained that she doesn’t know the first thing about computers and it was just a waste of money and said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. Dan showed Mom a few of the games and asked her just to try them to see if she could understand them. He left thinking that maybe he was wrong and Mom wouldn’t enjoy a computer. The next few times when we spoke with our Mom she told us she was very busy and couldn’t talk long. We wondered what Mom was so busy with lately and found out she was hooked on computer games!
