We don’t get paid until you get paid.” I was the slip and fall… I’m really not the type to sue, I don’t want to take anything that I haven’t earned but this was a very unusual situation that caused me a pretty severe injury. The cleaning crew of an all night convenience store had emptied their mop bucket directly in front on the entrance; it was around twenty degrees out at five thirty in the morning when I stopped to get a cup of coffee on the way in to work. There had been no precipitation of any kind for weeks, I expected no ice, but the mop water had turned to a sheet of ice from the cold causing me to slip. I tore my ACL as a result of the fall and needed surgery to repair the damage. I’m in for a relatively long and painful rehab and will miss quite a bit of work. I think it’s only fair for me to get compensated because it was most certainly someone’s fault that I got injured. I only plan to seek enough to cover the medical expenses and my wages that will be missed.
